Schools and Districts are working diligently, to keep students and staff safe and our classrooms open. Testing is one layer in a multi-layered approach to COVID-19 prevention, in addition to other key measures such as vaccination, mask-wearing, improved ventilation, physical distancing, and respiratory and hand hygiene. We are partnering with Inspire Diagnostics to administer school-based testing using the PCR and antigen test. This testing is optional for students.
For questions about your test results, please contact Inspire Diagnostics by voice or text Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM at (949) 539-6732 or email at schools@inspirediagnostics.com.
For questions regarding Covid-19 protocols in the K-12 school setting, please call Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM at (831) 466-5904 or email at COVIDProtocols@santacruzcoe.org.
Here is the latest on the status of our major testing initiatives:
Community PCR testing: outdoor drive-through PCR testing sites are now open to the entire community. These sites are available for symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals, and most test results are returned within 24-hours — comparatively, faster than most alternatives. Those needing a test simply need to fill out the registration one time at http://sccoe.link/inspiresc and this generates a QR code. You may go to any site. No appointment is necessary. If you misplace your QR code, the onsite technicians will be able to help you and you may still test.
Cabrillo College in Aptos, Parking Lot R, 6500 Soquel Ave., Aptos
Salud Para La Gente, 204 E Beach St. Watsonville
Rapid-response antigen testing: available at all school districts for students and school staff.
The level of inter-district coordination involved in these initiatives is difficult to overstate, and we understand to be unusual in our state, even under the current circumstances. Inspire Diagnostics, our primary testing partner, has our gratitude for enabling this level of testing in our schools. And above all else, our persistent focus on increasing testing capacity across Santa Cruz County reflects our foundational commitment: ensuring our students are healthy, and our classrooms remain open. For questions regarding Covid-19 test results, please contact Inspire Diagnostics at (949) 539-6732.
